David Cowley is the Historic Environment Scotland lead on Archaeological Survey, working in the Heritage Research Service of the Heritage Directorate. He has long standing interests in remote sensing for archaeology and in landscape archaeology and has the privilege of recording Scotland's ancient monuments and landscapes from the air, on the ground and through data such as airborne laser scanning. He has a particular research interest in Iron Age settlement.
