This year the judging panel of the Society decided to award the prize jointly to Chloe Murley (Lockerbie Academy) and Sofia Stores (St Joseph's College, Dumfries). Chloe's paper is entitled Why is the Hallmuir Prisoner of War camp an important part of Dumfries and Galloway's history? and Sofia's paper is entitled Why is Caerlaverock Castle important in the history of Dumfries and Galloway?
